Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Written to be read rather than skimmed past.

Last updated: 30 September 2026

The short version

We collect as little as we can. We never sell it, and we never publish an individual submission. You can ask us to delete anything we hold about you at any time.

Who we are

enterra.work is a platform for service businesses and the affiliates who promote them. We are launching soon and the wait list is currently open.

We decide what happens to the information described in this policy, and we are accountable for it. You can reach us at [email protected].

What we collect

We deliberately collect very little, and only what is needed to run the wait list, the launch, and this website.

  • Wait list: your name, your email address, and optionally your business name and what you are interested in. If you join more than one track, say as both a business and an affiliate, we record which tracks you picked against the single entry for you.
  • Surveys: your answers to the questions. These may include a business name, an industry and any free text you write. Both surveys can be completed anonymously.
  • Referral: your own referral code, the code of whoever referred you if you arrived through a link, and which referrals each code has earned.
  • Page visits: which pages are opened, when, and roughly where from. This has its own section below.
  • Technical: the IP address, the browser identification string, and the time of a submission. We keep these alongside wait list and survey entries so we can block automated submissions, and alongside sign-ins to our own admin area for security.

Why we use it

Only for the following, and nothing else:

  • To hold your place on the wait list and to contact you when we launch.
  • To understand what businesses and affiliates actually struggle with, so that we build the right thing.
  • To attribute referrals to the right person, so that points and rewards can be honoured.
  • To see which pages are being read, so we can tell what is useful and what is not.
  • To keep our lists clean, to block automated submissions, and to keep our own admin area secure.

Page visits

We count visits to the public pages of this site. For each one we record the page opened, the time, the IP address it came from, the country that address resolves to, and the browser identification string. We also note whether the visit came from an automated tool rather than a person.

It is counted on our own server, from the request itself. There is no tracking script in the page, no third party analytics service, and nothing is stored in your browser to make it work. Automated visits are counted separately and left out of the figures we look at.

We use this to see which pages are worth keeping and roughly how many people are finding us. We do not build a profile of you, we do not follow you to other sites, and we do not connect this to your wait list or survey answers, which are held separately.

The referral system

When you visit, we issue you a referral code and remember it in your browser. It travels with anyone who joins through your link.

If someone arrives through your link, we record two codes against their signup: theirs, and yours as the referrer. That is the whole mechanism. It records codes only, and it tells us nothing about the people you refer beyond what they themselves choose to submit.

A referral earns points only when the person arriving is genuinely somebody else. We check the cases where they are not: your own link, the same email address, or two people who have each referred the other.

Points and rewards stay tied to your code until launch. If you would rather not take part in the referral scheme, simply do not share your link, and no referral is ever created for you.

What we share

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. It is disclosed only in these cases:

  • To the providers that keep this site running, who may only use it to provide that service to us. That means our hosting provider, who store the site and the database, our email provider, who deliver the sign-in codes we send ourselves, and Cloudflare, who sit in front of the site and protect it from attack.
  • To the services that supply the site's fonts and interface code, as an ordinary part of loading a web page. Your browser fetches those files from them directly, which means they see your IP address. We send them nothing else, and we receive nothing back.
  • Where we are legally required to disclose it.

Survey answers specifically

We read every survey answer. Individual answers are never sold, never shared outside enterra.work, and never published as they are. Free text answers are not even shown on the screens we use to read them, precisely so they cannot be seen over a shoulder.

We may combine many answers into general findings, for example how most businesses say they find their work, or where most affiliates say they lose money. Findings like that may be published to help other businesses and affiliates set up better. Before anything of that kind is shared, we remove names, business names and anything else that could identify you.

Cookies and local storage

We use three small things, and none of them follow you around the internet:

  • A session cookie, so the forms you submit cannot be forged. It holds nothing about you and disappears when you close your browser.
  • A referral cookie, lasting a year, which remembers the referral code we issued you so that your shared links keep working.
  • A browser storage entry holding that same referral code, as a backup for the cookie.

A separate sign-in cookie exists for our own admin area. It is never set for visitors.

We run no advertising cookies, no third party analytics cookies, and no social media pixels. Page visits are counted on our server without any cookie at all.

If you clear cookies and site data you lose your referral code, and nothing else. The site carries on working normally.

How long we keep it

Wait list details are kept until you ask us to remove them, or until we no longer need them to run the launch.

Survey answers are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the platform, and are anonymised before any wider use.

Page visit records are kept for as long as they are useful for seeing which pages are read. They are counts, not profiles.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also ask us to stop contacting you.

Email [email protected] and we will action it. There is no charge, and we will not ask why. If you are not happy with how we handled it, tell us and we will look at it again.

Security

Your information is stored on our own server, outside the publicly accessible web directory, and access is restricted. Signing in to the admin area uses a one-time code rather than a password, so there is no password of ours to leak. Every sign-in attempt, successful or not, is recorded.

No system is perfectly secure, which is one reason we keep the data set deliberately small.

Children

The wait list and the surveys are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. If the change is significant, we will also mention it in an email to the wait list.

Questions about your information?

Email us and a person will answer. We do not use a ticket system for this.
